ugh, now thats an ugly bitch

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl on Steam is 75% off for the weekend, making it only $4.99. I picked up my copy right away, having heard rumors the game is good. I’ll append this post once it finishes installing and give you more details.

EDIT: Deffinitly worth the five bucks, the game is something like Diablo (the Game) meets… Black (the game)… or something, if anyone even gets both of those references. So, if you’ve got steam, and if you don’t go get it, it’s free, this is deffinitly a game to get. Simple, fun, complex, challanging, engrosing… All words I’d use to describe this game.

Well guys, over the past few months ProGamingLife.com has been a rather sink or float venture, but as of yesterday it’s official, we’ve made 30¢!

And so it is, with an abounding pleasure, that I can further solidify myself as someone who is making money of gaming. Additionally, while it might not truly be an “industry job” my application for game stop is to be submitted tomorrow.

And that’s how it’s done,

One thing that any FPS fan should love for christmas:

Weighted Companion Cube Plush

Direct from the steam shop, this thing is pretty chill. Plus the best part of portal was the humor anyways. Unfortunetly it is on the pricey side, so ask for it for christmas.

The Team Fortress 2 team has finally released a new blog update, and it happens to be in tandem to a new game update as well. Well actually a slew of new game updates:

We’ve been pretty quiet lately, but thankfully, that’s about to end. In the next few days we’ll have an update out that has a couple of new features for the Engineer and Spy, and a variety of other smaller fixes.

For more details: Hey good job, there, hardhat
But my favorite thing has gotta be the additional levels added to dispensers and teleporters. I love the engineer class.

At 5:00 pm Dec. 11 2008 progaminglife.com went down for maintenance, and is now running on word press 2.7 with permalinks enabled.

If you had linked to any posts prior to the switch to permalinks, than these outdated links Might have stopped working. I apologize for the inconvenience, but assure you that the new site configuration is both faster, of higher quality, and less prone to failure in the future.

Thanks, Zypher

oh, and I’m currently going through the AdSense motions to block AMD ads from my site. Intel ftw.

My use of the word affiliations here is maybe a little misleading. The word loyalties is much more fitting. Below is a list of companies, and the subsequent reasons why I adore them and prefer them to their competitors.

ATI Graphics Cards:

An ATI Radeon 3650

Ever since my first video card (My first card was a Radeon 9200 128MB PCI) I’ve been an ATI fanatic. I used that card for way, way too long. And when it was finally replaced, with a HD 2600xt 256MB (told you it was too long) I couldn’t have been more excited. Since then I have upgraded again to a HD 3650 512MB card. This current Card handles shit like a dream, and using riva-tuner I’m currently running it at over 100MHz above stock, with no issues.

So Nvidia can suck my nut, it’s ATI for life.

Intel Processors:

An Intel Pentium D 915

An Intel Pentium D 915

This ones kinda straight forward, despite RUMORS that some AMD chips handle games better, no one can compete with Intel on the desktop front, and really, try as I might, I still find myself browsing online, watching videos, or other general Non-gaming tasks more than I find myself in-game. That wins the argument right there. And that’s why I’m still running an Intel Pentium D 940+ instead of upgrading to some “faster” cheap piece of AMD crap.

There is a problem though. AMD has recently acquired ATI!!! I know it’s fuckin whack. Yet despite my fears, I am still able to get a crossfire capable Intel based motherboard, and I suppose that’s all that matters.

Current Jolt Flavors

First of all, they definitely got the experience edge on their side. They’ve been in production longer than most of these new-fangled beverages have been residing in some middle aged nerds cranium. Secondly it just tastes friggin great. Like epicly great. Unlike most caffeine heavy beverages, these don’t taste like boiled gravel and used toilet paper shreds. Don’t believe me? just go try a Jolt Blue, seriously… epic.

Coca-Cola:

Lucky Little Shit

Lucky Little Bitch

You might be confused how I can be loyal to two different soda companies at once. well… It’s actually quite simple. While Binging for a late night gaming session, sure, I prefer jolt. But when I’m at the movies, or kickin back killing time, it’s all about the coke. Nothing beats that crisp, sweet but balanced flavor that coke has mastered over a century of production. It’s… again… Epic.

Fast Food Related:

Mcdonalds/Burger King

It's an age old Arguement, That I aim to settle.

It's an age old Arguement, That I aim to settle.

To be honest.. and admit a serious character flaw in myself, my most frequented fast-food establishment is probably McDonald’s. Due not only to a set of convientently placed restaurants in Greenfield Massachusetts, but also due to the immeasurably low cost of their food.

Now, I have no problem with buying food made cheaper by destruction of the rainforest or anything high-and-mighty like that. My problem with mcdonalds is this: The McDouble.

Fuck you mcdonalds… seriously, 19¢? blow it out your ass…

Burger king on the other hand just has wierd prices, and whenever I ask for a “plain” burger they assume I mean no cheese too, but still charge me for a cheesed burger.

And so I strongly advocate WENDY’S.

They're even open late!

They're even open late!

Although there isn’t one in my immediate area, phase it out as a possible everyday eatery, they been better all along. So everyone should grow up and start consuming better food, from wendy’s.

And that’s it for now. I’ll be poosting more as I think of them, so keeping checking back, or subscribe to the feed.

Peace,

~zypher
