So, just to set the record straight, I drink Jolt. Jolt cola, Jolt Orange, and Jolt Blue are easily the greatest three beverages on the planet, with the possible exception of the Star-Bucks Dark Chocolate Frappuccino which I occasionally splurge on.

However, in a brilliant marketing ploy, Mountain Dew has released a set of Limited Edition “Green Label Art” metal bottles which caught my eye, and wallet, off guard. Apparently these bottles are “Series Two” and at $1.50 for a 16oz bottle, it’s not the cheapest way to consume dew, I mean, a two litter at a grocery store will cost about the same. But aside from the awesome bottle art, and the fact that the dew seems to slide down my throat better from these metal bottles than plastic ones, they seem as though they would make great projectiles for a recoil-less rifle, and for me that happens to be a MAJOR selling point.

So so far I’ve only collected five out of six (in series two):

I’m keeping an eye out for that last bottle, and for any new Series Three bottles when they come out.

So we join our hero, on his adventure already in progress. Carrying home his two new Sega Genesis systems, and reveling in the fact that they were both procured for only $10.

Upon arriving at my house, after a long day at a flea-market, I looked over my newly begotten wares. In tow I had a Nerf Maverick Rev-6, a Nerf Long shot CS-6 (both only $1 each), a p4 2.7Ghz desktop ($30), and two Sega Genesis, games, and controllers, ($10).

Immediately I dove for the Sega’s.  After testing multiple configurations however, I found that The salesman had included only one set of working power and a/v cables. That slimey dog, i thought to myself, quickly scanning ebay for a replacement. Then I saw something that made me beam. People selling, crappy, broken, or incomplete segas for $15! well needless to say, thats were one of mine went, and though it was hard to part with my backup sega, 5 shitty sports titles, and two awkwardly shpaed controllers, the $20 dollars + shipping it fetched at auction more than made up for it.

And that young ones, is how you can own a piece of gaming history for -$10.

So as we all know, the objective of this blog is to chronicle my rise in the professional gaming community. The best way to improve my status then, is to enter tournaments. While I had been focusing my efforts to prepare for the next season of the Championship Gaming Series Pro-Am,  the company’s future is now in turmoil(thecgs.com), and I fear there will not be another season to participate in.

Thus, I am searching for other tournaments, namely featuring Counter-Strike: Source or another Source engine game, so if you happen to know any, feel free to comment this post. In the interim I will still be beefing up my lackluster CS:S skills and keeping watch on the gaming world at large.

When a suitable tournament is found, me and my team will also likely be hosting a draft for talented players. If your interested, again just leave a comment.
