Hey Loyal listeners,

There’s a big problem that cropped up during our down time, and plenty of people have asked my stance on the issue, so I’m gonna do my best to clear the air.

DO NOT buy Call of Duty: Modern Warefare 2. The game is the bane of computer games. It is as though god himself set a hit-man upon our beloved gaming rigs and we, as consumers, must confront and correct his path.

If your out of the computer gaming loop you might not have heard so here’s the gist. Infinity Ward, after issuing a press release stating that games are more profitable when they have only a 1 year turn over, has dropped support for dedicated servers from MW2.

Why? Because honestly, it’s more profitable for Infinity Ward. Nevermind the fact that we now have to host every game on our personal machines, most of which are still utterly incapable of doing so, thanks in large part to slow upload speeds, but now Infinity Ward has complete control of their product longevity. If in 3 months they want to publish MW3, all they have to do is kill the master server for MW2 and no one can play it online anymore… EVER.

Of course they would never do this, right? WRONG. By law Infinity Ward must do good by it’s stock holders. Keeping around servers for an antiqued game is obviously not the best way to achieve this.

Now, after hearing that you may think that there’s nothing we can do. However there is. By voting with our Wallets and not buying the game, we can turn the tables on Infinity Ward and make the game unprofitable in it’s current configuration. They will then, by law, have to protect stock-holders by issue a patch. The only thing wrong with this theory is the small corner of the market that computer games hold but, with enough persistence and with the full support of our computer brethren we can prevail against this diabolical scheme.

Stay Fast and True,

~Zypher
